THE MISSING CONNECTION

Your software belongs in the workflow.

Your business runs on specialist software. Your Shopify store should not depend on someone retyping its data. Anyweb assesses the supported connection, then builds around the information you can actually access.

Fictional assessment. Feasibility depends on the actual software, permissions and data.

Start with the source you have

01

Start with one business outcome

Describe the repeated task: publish supplier availability, create approved products or send an order reference. We map its starting point, destination and success condition before choosing technology. A narrower first connection is easier to test than a promise to synchronize everything.

  • Name the two systems and their account owners
  • Bring a redacted example of the task
02

Choose the simplest supported route

An existing connector may already cover the requirement. Where it does not, an approved API, scheduled export or agreed file exchange can provide a workable bridge. Read-only access on one side may support importing data but cannot establish a two-way workflow.

  • Check native features before custom development
  • Record supported fields and update frequency
03

Decide which system owns each field

Inventory, product descriptions and customer records need different rules. We define which side controls each field, how identifiers match and what happens to manual edits. Unmatched records wait for review rather than becoming accidental duplicate products.

  • Keep editorial content separate from supplier updates
  • Review ambiguous identifiers
04

Make the connection supportable

A useful integration needs a visible history of successful transfers and actionable failures. The handover should identify who handles access changes, software upgrades and unresolved records. Shopify permissions are selected for the agreed workflow; customer-data access is reviewed separately when relevant.

  • Plan retries and a reconciliation check
  • Agree maintenance responsibilities before launch

BEFORE YOU START

The useful questions.

What is possible depends on your data, existing systems and the way your business works.

Can you connect a system with no public API?

Possibly, if the vendor permits a usable export or other supported exchange. A private portal alone does not establish permission or feasibility.

What if only Shopify has an API?

The other system may supply files that can be validated and imported. The reverse direction depends on its own supported inputs.

Do I need a custom app?

Only if existing tools cannot reliably meet the agreed rules. The assessment should compare simpler options first.

Will it keep working after a software update?

No connection is maintenance-free. Version changes, field changes and access expiry need testing, monitoring and an assigned owner.
